If you don't want to ride a long journey, you can consider to adopt below methods to transport your vehicle (scooter & bicycle) to your destination.
The whole procedure is very quick and simple but could be a some problem to foreigners who can't read Chinese. It's suggested to ask Taiwanese
friend to offer an assistance. Here just to give you a basic idea of how it works.
Two factors will decide the price. One is scooter cc and the other is the distance. For example, transporting from Taipei to Kaohsiung is more expensive than the price from Taipei to Taichung. In addition, under same distance, transporting 125cc scooter will be more expensive than transporting 50 cc. Bicycle & 50 cc scooter are usually at the same price category.
Rate:
Generally, price categories will look like this (surely each store's price list won't be exactly the same.)
Time
It still depends on distance. Two days is general if transported by private transportation stores.
Summer & winter vacation are peak season since students will go back to their home and they need to send back vehicle to use. Thus, during this period, the transportation time will be longer in comparison with other seasons.
Railway transportation
Compared with private transportation stores, railway transportation service looks more economical. But the biggest disadvantage is the number of stations is not so many. Only train stations located in main cities offer this service.

松山Songshan、萬華Wanhua、中壢Zhongli、新竹Hsinchu、台中Taichung、彰化Changhua、員林Yuanlin、嘉義Chiayi、台南Tainan、宜蘭Yilan、羅東Luodong、花蓮Hualien

Procedure:
- ride to Baggage Room location of available train stations.
- You have to fill in two forms.
a) Weight strip for Baggage 檢磅條 (English & Chinese version) (click the link to download the form)
b) Tag of Baggage (English & Chinese version)標籤 (click the link to download the form) - Go to counter to pay the fee (cash only)
- Then they will give you three receipts. Please keep them. (if your price includes package material, please paste white big receipt onto your scooter so that TRA staff will pack it when they see it.)
***Please don't lock your scooter, or it will be very difficult for TRA staff to move your vehicle into train carriage. - The scooter will arrive after 1-2 days. Please take your receipts to get your scooter.
